The numbers are in. Right now on a good day, Firefox Usage is only at about 10% of the total browser types used for the day. I changed the pages for JobSearchLog.com to change the way links work.
#--------------------------------------------------------# Profile Name: jobsearchlog.com# Date Range: 7/6/2006 - 7/6/2006#--------------------------------------------------------
#--------------------------------------------------------# Browser Versions#--------------------------------------------------------Browsers VisitsInternet Explorer| 122Opera | 2Firefox | 2Safari | 1Netscape | 1
I am using browser detection to determine if the user is using Internet Explorer or not. If they are, the links will target the originating page. Otherwise a new tab is created for most links. This allows easier copying and pasting among other capabilities.
I am far from excited about having to make the change, but my fear is that it could be confusing IE users when so many windows are opened.
